Overnight Respite

Critical Support for Families

Overnight respite provides participants with the opportunity to socialize with peers and build independence, and gives families the chance to take a break and tend to their overall health and well-being. Of the 1,673 families using the respite services, studied by an Auburn University study:

  • 74% reported reduced stress, indicating increased resilience—the flexibility and strength to spring back from adversity.

  • 75% reported an increase in their social connections. Research has shown that parents who are isolated and have few social connections are at higher risk for child maltreatment.

  • 85% reported an increase in concrete supports in times of need, connecting families with needed services and ensuring necessities, such as food, clothing, and shelter are met.

Overnight Respite is provided at our Easton home-like facility, which features four overnight respite bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a fitness and recreation room, a library and resource room, and more.
